Creating custom fields are important in your marketing automation platform because it allows us to segment our lists and contacts by endless amounts of fields. Custom Fields can be used to trigger automation workflows, segment contacts to a list, inform sales people and more. Your CSM set up a number of custom fields for you inside your marketing automation platform, but to create additional fields, navigate to the gray icon in the upper right hand corner of your screen, and choose settings. From there, on the lefthand sidebar, choose custom fields (under features). This will take you to your custom field manager, where you will be able to:
- See all the custom fields that have already been created
- Edit and organize existing custom fields
- Create new custom fields
In the upper right hand corner, choose add a field. From here you see several different types of custom fields to choose from. You can view an entire guide and video on custom fields here.
